Give yourself away…..
on Jul 20 in Blog, sliders by Josh MeadowsI met a man named Robert one time in Pensacola Fl, ironically I was at a dog park and I saw him picking up cans out of the trashcan for extra money. I offered him a cigar, and we sat and talked for hours. That day, I learned more lessons on humility, than I had ever learned from a pastor, or in a church, or from a boook. What I experienced, was a life of humility, in which Robert, gave all that he had, HIMSELF.
He told me stories about his grandson, and how he would travel a few hours on bike to see him. Whenever Robert would leave, his grandson would always have a fit and cry uncontrollably, and Robert could tell me exactly why. Robert said, “All his aunts and uncles, and everybody in the family for that matter, gave him toys, they always bought him stuff, but I had NOTHING, so I gave him all of me!”
Guys there is a big difference, in giving people things IN a relationship, and giving yourself to a relationship. In a culture that is fascinated by money and material objects, we often forget to give ourselves. What Robert gave his grandson, was LOVE. And remeber the words from 1 Corinithians 13:2 …If I have all prophetic powers and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I AM NOTHING. If I give away ALL I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.”
If you have money, give it, if you have posessions, help others….but regardless…LOVE THE LORD JESUS WELL WITH YOURSELF AND GIVE HIM YOUR LOVE, THAT IS WHAT HE IS AFTER.

Born in 1982, Josh grew up in the mountains of Asheville, North Carolina where he was raised by his mother and grandparents. When you think of Josh, think humble beginnings. His mother worked 3 jobs just to put food on the table and make ends meet, and often times, Josh and his sister would stay home and tear stuff up “literally”...
