When “nothing” can shake you

I love King David. I love the different aspects of his life, and how he always keeps us guessing. I love his times of praise, I love his honesty in times of sorrow, I love his boldness as he defeated fierce animals and giant competitors, and I love his confidence in HIS GOD! Lets look at this verse in Psalm 3:6

“I will not be afraid of many thousands of people who have set themselves against me all around”

David is being chased by his own son Absalom, probably humiliating in itself, and basically he has TONS of enemies who want his very life. We would all agree, this is a situation worthy of worry, freaking out, going insane, and frankly, we would loose it. Yet in the midst of all the circumstances, the danger, the uncertainty, and the chaos, ONE thing remains, His awareness of an amazing God. David sees the face of God, and embraces the presence of God in the midst of extreme danger, and finds NO reason to be scared.

Whatever happens in life, regardless of how dangerous, what matters is that we embrace and trust His presence. Over and over we see in the scriptures that we have a God that fights for us and goes to war for us, and David understood that. See when we are aware of the greatness of our God, and we are overcome by His constant presence, realizing that our life is in HIS hands, NOTHING CAN SHAKE US.

For His Glory
